Valley of Flowers is the beautiful valley famous for its rich flora and fauna. It is located in the Joshimath region of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Valley of Flowers lies on the laps of the mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan. The alpine meadows and the surroundings of this place attract thousands of tourists every year.
Tourists from abroad also visit this place. This valley was declared as an Indian National Park along with the Nanda Devi Wildlife Sanctuary. Valley of Flowers is an exciting place to visit. This valley is a home to many rare and endangered species of animals, birds and plants as well. You can find medicinal herbs, beautiful flowers and rare varieties of flowers that cannot be seen anywhere else. This place should definitely be on the top of your list, for a beautiful trekking experience. The trek offers stunning views of the mighty Himalayas and jaw dropping scenes as well. This valley is also on the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. I would suggest everyone to do this trek at least once.
Hardwar (Gateway to God and starting point of North Char Dham Yatra)
You are welcome to the city of Hardwar, get checked in to your selected hotel, relax or be the part of Ganga Aarti at the ghat of Hari Ki Pauri. This night you are staying at hotel in Haridwar. Fixed Departures team personal will meet you at your hotel at 08:00 p.m for complete briefing of the tour.
Note: There are options to reach Haridwar by road, train & by air (Jolly Grant airport, Dehradun – 38 kms, Delhi by surface 230 kms).
Firstly, you will have to assemble at the Haridwar bus stand. From there you will be driving to Joshimath which is 250- 270 km away from Haridwar. So it will take around 8-9 hours to reach there. After arriving Joshimath check-in into hotel as you will staying there for the rest of the night.
Joshimath – Govindghat – Ghangaria
Get up early the next morning, after having breakfast take a ride to reach Govindghat. It will take about 1-2 hours to reach Govindghat. After arriving there you will do a 13 km trek to reach Ghangaria. Upon arrival at Ghangaria set a campsite and rest for the night there.
Ghangaria – Valley Of Flowers – Ghangaria
Get up early and after having a wholesome a breakfast leave the campsite to proceed your journey. This day you will be trekking to your destination Valley of Flowers. It is going to be a 12 km long trekking distance to reach there. Upon the arrival you can explore the valley to the fullest. One can also go deeper into the valley to explore more. After enjoying the surrounding of valley start trekking back to Ghangaria. After arriving at Ghangaria set up a campsite for night stay.
Ghangaria – Govindghat – Joshimath
Next day after having breakfast start trekking back to Govindghat. As already told, you will be trekking for 13 km. After arriving at Govindghat take some rest and eat something. And then ride back to Joshimath. Check-in into hotel in Joshimath to spend the night there.
Joshimath – Haridwar
This is going to be the last day of your journey. After you are done with your breakfast you will be driving back to Haridwar and from there to your home. And the trip ends here.
