Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand is known to be the most important in terms of spirituality. In December 2016 PM Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the Chardham highway development project in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun.
Below are the key points:
The project will connect all four Dhams with a highway.
The objective of the government is to develop a 900 Km of the national highway, which will cost around 12,000 Crores.
This Highway project will offer travelers a convenient and safer journey.
The project will have proper slope stabilization to ensure protection against landslides.
It is expected that the project will be completed by the end of 2019.
How it will affect the Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand?
If we talk about today’s Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand then it is very dangerous and full of risk due to bad roads and landslides, sometimes roads get blocked and pilgrims get stuck on their way. After the completion of the Highway project traveling to Chardhams of Uttarakhand will be more comfortable and safer, as the government is planning a road which will be connected to all four Dhams and also it will prevent Landslides too.
When the project is done then for sure the tourism and the number of pilgrims will be increased and it will also help in the development of Uttarakhand. It is also expected that the project will offer jobs too.
